Manchester District Citizens Advice Bureau is a registered charity which gives specialist and general advice to the public .We operate in the district of Manchester, where there are six bureaux on separate sites. In addition we deliver outreach sessions at a number of locations across the City. We employ approximately 47 paid staff and have around 60 volunteers.

HR Challenge

Prior to Simply Personnel we did not have a HR software package. We managed on a paper system .In July 2007 it was clear that with the growth of the organisation this was no longer an effective way of managing our HR needs .We looked at several HR systems .We are a small organisation and Simply Personnel offered all the benefits of the more complex HR systems it was so easy to use and on price it was unbeatable A charity could not afford to pay the substantial sums that some other HR providers were quoting. Simply Personnel did everything we needed from a HR software package.

Solution

Implement Simply Personnel’s Training Manager and Self Service .We now have access to all our employees details at the touch of a button. Although we are small our structure can be complex as we are funded from various sources.  It would not be unusual for an employee to work one day a week on one Project and 4 days on a differently funded project.  We needed to know which funding stream was paying for which staff and for how many days. This information can be stored on Simply Personnel and we can now easily identify where and when our employees are working, and for what funding scheme .
